Spider Flash

SpiderFlash is an innovative patient-activated loop recorder based on Secure Data card technology providing markedly expanded memory capacity. With its prolonged autonomy, SpiderFlash is an excellent alternative to implantable loop recorders.

ECG documentation at time of symptom is a class I indication for ambulatory ECG recording methods. Choosing a recording system is critical and mainly dependent on the frequency of symptom occurrence. When occurring daily or nearly daily, symptomatic episodes can be captured by 24-h of 48-h standard Holter recorders. Symptoms that occur weekly or monthly need prolonged monitoring, as offered by the SpiderFlash event recorder. Patients with transient symptoms such as syncope, near syncope, palpitations, or shortness of breath, can now be monitored continuously for up to 30 days.

Patients wear SpiderFlash comfortably in a necklace-like position and hook it and unhook it themselves.

With its Secure Data card, SpiderFlash is capable of recording many hours of ECG with outstanding signal quality. SpiderFlash can record the ECG for up to 15 minutes before, and 15 minutes after activation, as often as needed. Therefore, an event can be recorded even when SpiderFlash is activated after resolution of the symptom, for example after a syncopal patient has regained consciousness.
