T Wave Variability
An innovative time-domain method for the detection of T wave variability based on Holter recordings. This analytical tool is a feature available for SyneScope scanning software.
Ventricular repolarization abnormalities are of critical importance in the genesis of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. This method stratifies the patient risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) and of malignant ventricular arrhythmias.
First Step: Recording of a Holter ECG
The method is based on standard Holter recordings obtained with any Sorin Group Holter device.
Second Step: Selection of the T Wave Parameters
Preview of the signal and selection of the T wave parameters: time resolution (as low as 10 beats), T wave segments (early, apex, end) and T-to-T variation pattern.
Third Step: Computation of the T Variability Index
The algorithm calculates the T Var Index, which is the combination of the local ECG signal variance (in squared µV) weighted by a T-to-T variation pattern.
